I'm taking a journey to learn the art of creating great, clean, soul-moving music and beats. My influences are JDilla, Black Milk, 9th Wonder, Madlib, you know..producers of that mindset. So, if you're one of those guys that like "Radio" hip hop, not here

Where are all the REAL hip hoppers??

Posted by eppskevin - November 27th, 2010

It seems like my music keeps getting compared to other music, mainly that crappy "Radio" hip hop, instead of just music..

I think that when people do that, they don't really relate to hip hop. Hip hop isn't always about a style of beat, or whatever, it should be able to appreciate the sound of music that speaks to you.

I know that I've said several times that I don't like this current mainstream hip hop that's out now...That's because it has no heart at all. It's all about making money and being catered to corporations instead of the people, or even the artist writing it. It should speak from their heart.

I just don't seem to see a lot of people that appreciate good music here. If they are here, they don't seem to be the ones listening to my music....

I know I have a lot of growing to do, but I don't understand how people don't like to hear melodies in songs. That in my opinion is what makes the damn song!! But I digress...

Sorry to vent, but it's just appalling to me is all...I'm sure like most people, everyone will freakin catch on when I'm dead or some other dude comes out biting the same style I'm using..

Just really a vent. I know there's people out there that think about music like I do, and would love to meet more of them.

I'm definitely another dude who agrees 100% with this.

dang dude you got alot of nice songs now. cool. The real hip hoppers are everywhere i think they just keep to themselves . Cause i know that no one at school talks beats with me. Do it for you and the real n***as will come. Props

You know, I think that's very true. We do seem to keep to ourselfs, don't we? But, when we do come together, it's magic.

Thanks for the Props, man. Yeah, I'm definitely going to keep doing what I'm doing and grow, because I just love to do it and I always have music going on in my head, like ALL the time. I'm one of those dudes that will sit there and bob my head with no music around, lol. That bugs my friends when I do that.

Plus it clears my head.

I dont listen to main stream Hip Hop, it absolutely is horrid lol.

I listen to either old school like Big L, or things under ground as shit.

You know?
The ones that dont talk about bitches, money, drugs, and guns lol.

LOL!

Yea, I love thinking music. I'm not much of a partier, and even when I used to go to the clubs, I only felt like doing anything when something chill came on(Biz Markie used to DJ for us alot, and it was always dope). I'm just glad that there are others like me out there.

I Listen To Mainstream, As Well As Underground Shit. Even If Its Pop Bubblegum Shiza, I Still Respect The Artist As A Musician In One Way Or Another.

And Plus, Its Good To Have An All Around Ear. It Aint That Bad.
I Mean, A Lot Of Mainstream Shit Is For BItch Ass N***as, But, Whatever You Know?
They Can Go Do Their Thing.

Music Is Music, I Try To Go All Around

Yes that is true...but that's the problem, though. Everyone doesn't think like you. Personally, a lot of that music doesn't really speak to me, so it's just noise. But, I do enjoy all different type of genres(Classical, 60's - 90's, Jazz, Japanese, .etc) of music because they speak to me. I can always appreciate music for being music. All I'm saying is nowadays a lot of people that make the mainstream music and even listeners don't really appreciate music. They just appreciate what's considered "hot".

If you want to make music to get paid, fine. It shows is all.

If you want to make music because you love it, and that's what in your heart and soul, it shows.

Just don't pass the first option as the second is what I'm saying.

I like what you got going man if you are down to collab let me know I've worked with Shaggy and xStyle andI dont mind adding another newgrounds producer to the group. Hit me up if you're down.

Well if you agree with this, give my stuff a listen. I know it isnt the best quality, but the lyrics i write are definitely different from main stream rap and hip hop.

I think the intellectuals will really enjoy my stuff.
